Ostend-Bruges Airport and Antwerp Airport are gearing up for the summer holiday season, anticipating a total of 160,000 passengers. The airports, along with their partners, have made extensive preparations to ensure smooth and stress-free vacations for travelers.
Regional airports have been gaining popularity as passengers appreciate the convenience and reduced stress levels compared to larger airports. CEO Eric Dumas highlighted this trend, emphasizing that regional departures offer a more relaxed travel experience, eliminating the need to arrive hours in advance.
Ostend-Bruges Airport is expecting around 90,000 passengers in July and August, with a range of 13 destinations available, including popular Spanish, Greek, and Turkish locations. Notably, flights to Antalya in Turkey will resume for the first time since 2019, offering three weekly flights. The top summer destinations from Ostend include Alicante, Malaga, and Tenerife.
Meanwhile, Antwerp Airport anticipates 70,000 passengers during the summer season, aiming to surpass passenger numbers from 2019. Travelers from Antwerp can choose from 12 destinations in Spain, Greece, Morocco, Turkey, Croatia, and the United Kingdom. Thanks to TUI fly's new aircraft, additional distant destinations such as Tenerife, Crete, and Antalya will be accessible from Antwerp this summer.
In addition to TUI fly, ASL Fly Executive and Luxair will also operate flights from Antwerp. ASL will provide twice-weekly flights to Ibiza, and Luxair will offer four weekly flights to London City airport, providing a convenient link to the British capital.
