Qatar Airways celebrates five years of flight operations at Mykonos international airport

12 June 2023, Mykonos, Greece - Qatar Airways is celebrating its fifth anniversary of operating flights between Doha and Mykonos, Greece.


The World’s Best Airline first began flying from Mykonos International Airport on 30 May, 2018, but flights were discontinued during the COVID pandemic before resuming in 2021 as part of a travel bubble. In the past five years, Qatar Airways has flown around 50,000 passengers on its Mykonos service, via Hamad International Airport in Doha and Qatar Airways’ global network of more than 160 destinations.

The seasonal Doha-Mykonos route is currently operated by Qatar Airways’ modern Airbus A320 four times a week on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.


Mykonos, in the beautiful Cyclades Islands in the Aegean Sea, with its stunning beaches and fun atmosphere, is a firm favourite for travellers from all around the world, particularly from the Gulf region and Australia. For Greek travellers from Mykonos, Australia and Singapore are some of the most popular destinations.

Qatar Airways currently operates from two airports in Greece, which also includes three daily seasonal flights from Athens International Airport.
