SKY express continues to "spread its wings" to new international destinations, offering even more options. SKY express further enhances Greece's connectivity with the Caucasus region, as it now directly connects Athens with the capital of Armenia. The first flight of SKY express landed at Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan on Tuesday, November 5th, with a warm welcome from the airport. The presence of the Ambassador of Greece to Armenia, Mr. Christos Sofianopoulos, was particularly honored. This new direct route of SKY express operates with the company’s state-of-the-art aircraft three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday), thereby strengthening the tourism, business, and cultural ties between the two countries. The addition of Yerevan to SKY express's international network marks the strengthening of the presence of the large Greek airline in dynamic foreign markets. It also highlights the strategic importance of the region as a key hub between Europe and Asia.
Flying steadily to 22 international destinations, SKY express offers travelers seamless travel with high-level comforts and services, while contributing significantly to the further development of Greece's national tourism product.
Sergey Avetisyan, General Manager of “Armenia” International Airports” CJSC said, “Congratulations to our partners. Our commitment remains to continuously enhance our services, delivering a unique and memorable travel experience for all our passengers”.
Christos Sofianopoulos, Greece’s Ambassador to Armenia, who also attended the event, stated: "We warmly welcome this official opening of the air connection between Yerevan and Athens. We are confident that this will bring our two countries closer together and strengthen the ties between them. We are also sure that it will enhance trade opportunities, tourism, and people-to-people relations between our already very friendly nations. We hope this will give more Greeks the chance to visit Armenia as tourists and enjoy its beauty and growing tourism. Additionally, we can make the airports of Yerevan and Athens hubs for connecting flights to the rest of the world, to other destinations in Europe, Asia, and beyond."
