United increases flights from Greece by more than 30 percent in 2024
The beginnings of the seasonal summer flights from Athens to New York/ Newark were preceded and Washington Dulles
ATHENS, May 24, 2024 - United Airlines has launched a new, daily seasonal direct connection between Athens International Airport and its main hub at Chicago O'Hare . With the introduction of this new flight, United is increasing flights from Greece by over 30 percent for 2024.
The launch of the new flight from Athens to Chicago O'Hare adds to United 's already existing flights from Greece, which began earlier this summer: a daily seasonal connection from Athens to New York/Newark that began on March 31 and Washington Dulles which started on April 15, 2024.

"The over 30 percent increase in flights is great news for our customers traveling from Greece as it provides even more travel options, a direct link to the Chicago metropolitan area, as well as the ability to connect through our hubs in the US with more than 130 destinations across the Americas."

The new flight from Athens to Chicago O'Hare underscores United 's leadership among US airlines as the largest transatlantic airline, with direct flights from 37 transatlantic destinations for the summer of 2024, the most in history of and more destinations than all other US carriers combined. United continues to be the only airline that connects the US directly to Dubrovnik, Malaga, Majorca and Tenerife. United 's 2024 summer schedule also includes new flights from Barcelona to San Francisco, the resumption of the seasonal flight from Reykjavik to New York/Newark, and additional flights from Rome and Brussels. United has also increased its summer seasonal flights from Malaga to New York/Newark to weekdays and restarted the flight earlier - on May 3, 2024. In addition, the airline has earlier restarted some of its most popular seasonal flights, from Nice, Lisbon, Barcelona, Rome, Milan and Naples, giving customers more time and flexibility to explore destinations across the US.
